This year’s summit is co-located with INBIX/iCOBLET 2026, creating a unique working forum where educators, trainers, researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers can come together to discuss the future of bioinformatics education and workforce development (https://bioclues.org/events/inbix/).

GBES is an interactive working meeting dedicated to identifying challenges, sharing successful educational practices, and developing collaborative solutions that strengthen bioinformatics training worldwide. 

The summit places particular emphasis on building sustainable capacity, promoting international collaboration, and fostering stronger connections between communities across the Global North and Global South.

Participants can expect engaging discussions on emerging educational approaches, competency development, curriculum design, workforce needs, and strategies for expanding access to high-quality bioinformatics training. 

The outcomes of the summit will contribute to future community initiatives and recommendations that support the continued growth of bioinformatics education worldwide.
