Biography

I am currently organising a couple of bioinformatics community-building projects, including the EMBL Bio-IT project, and the Heidelberg Unseminars in Bioinformatics (HUB); both of these involve facilitating and organising training in bioinformatics. In addition, I organise and teach in a range of bioinformatics-related training events, including annual courses on Computational Molecular Evolution, supported either by EMBO or the Wellcome Trust. I started training in bioinforamtics in 2003, during my PhD at the EMBL in Heidelberg, and this has been an important component of my work ever since.
